Drink coffee black in the morning and skip breakfast. If you don’t like the taste of black coffee you can check out The Red Tea Detox as it gives the same benefits as black coffee. Without trying to bore you to death with the scientific reasons behind why black coffee is beneficial, I’m going to break it down in the most comprehensive way I know.

We know that weight loss is about 75% what you eat and 25% physical activity. So let not focus on exercise because it is not exactly there problem. Therefore our problem or whats causing us to gain weight and not lose it is what we eat. Moreover, we eat when we feel hunger, right? This is because the drug’s appetite suppression effect are so strong that the child would not know know he/she is hungry nor would they feel it.

Weight loss is basically taking in less and expelling more. You take in less calories then you put out. If you can do this every day day I guarantee you it can work. Coffee helps me stay focused on a task as well and often times I forget about eating. And don’t worry about starvation. We can get about 3 weeks without food. Even though I wouldn’t recommend going that long without food.

I understand this takes some will power.  Usually it is just that hurdle to get over. Once we block the feeling of hunger we are allowed to salvage some of that will power. It makes it a tad bit easier.

Stress Management Techniques ANYONE Can Use (How to Relieve Stress)

Stress is very uncomfortable as you know it if you are reading this. Here are some ways to deal with stress.

Change Your Perception on Stress

I’m sure some of you have heard of the two types of stress that we experience: Eustress (which considered “good” stress, because it is beneficial for the experiencer) and distress (which is defined as great pain, anxiety, and physical or mental suffering).

Recent studies have found that all types of stress is beneficial. Stress is actually survival instinct and it is just your body telling you that it is ready for whatever task is thrown at it. The best example I can give of stress benefitting you is doing push ups. You put stress on your arms to push your body up. It feels uncomfortable but in return you get stronger.

Don’t let stress affect you the same as it did before. There is some treasure for that stress right in front of your eye. Deal with your stress straight forward when you feel it and use it as a super-power to deal with demanding circumstances.

Stop Thinking About Yourself

Thinking about your problems is what causes stress. When you stop thinking about your situation, you will be able to think things through properly. Taking a walk, exercising, listening to music, washing the dishes, baking, meditating, or cleaning your home are one of the many ways to stop thinking about yourself.

Even giving someone a phone call and talking to them about all the problems they are going through can be beneficial. The point is to clear your mind. Stress is a good thing but like everything if you take in too much it can start to become harmful. No worry though, the point of ceasing thoughts about yourself helps you to realize that the world is not ending and your problems may not be as big as you make it to be. Therefore, there is no need to stress more – stop thinking about yourself for while then you come back to reality with a fresh start.

Prepare Yourself

You know what causes you to stress. Know that the chances of these stressors showing up again in your life are high. One way to relieve stress is to be prepared for it. Learning what to do and how to do it quickly decreases the amount of stress the experiencer will feel the next time the problem occurs. You should be a student of yourself to sense when you are stress and know what you have to do the relieve that stress.

If you have class, prepare yourself to take notes and write down homework assignments. Know that they are coming and do not expect it to be easy. One thing that I’ve been using is the voice command on my iPhone to set reminders for things that stress me. As soon as I am aware of something that I know will cause stress I set a reminder. These reminders pop up each time I pick up my phone and even though it inflicts a slight amount of stress in me, it reminds me to work on my problems and helps me keep my stress level from rising uncontrollably. 

Life Depends on Decision Making

I looked up the definition of the word ‘decision’ to have a bit more clarity.

Here it is:

A decision comes after consideration. Which seems totally weird to me. Consideration? When I think about it, I don’t remember pondering a lot of decisions I’ve made in life. Being young and dumb, along with the blessing (and curse) of free will made it extremely easy to screw up my life. I was very naive of and selfish to the future ‘me’ – had I made better decisions back then the present ‘me’ would be in a better positions.

Struggles present some type of opportunity. As complex as life may be, there is always you can learn from what you’ve created. My decisions in the past have taught me to make present and future decisions wisely. Just as you could of done something differently in the past, you can do that now if you wanted to. Also, you have to make the correct decision over and over again in order to get better at decision making.

But if you continue to make the same decisions you made in the past, they will continue to get in your ass.

There are so many things that influence decision making. One thing I want to point out is when we fail to incorporate change. As humans, we are made to evolve (changing over time). Your thinking is only of the hardest things to evolve. It takes everyday practice, but like everything that you practice daily, you naturally get better at it. But when we don’t notice how our thinking is outdated and broken, we will continue making the wrong decisions. Your own mind will control you if you don’t incorporate change.

Ask yourself:

  1. What if I break the rules and do something different for a change?
  2. Why do I make the decisions that I make? Did my parents or peers influence me?
  3. Should I really be buying this? How will losing this money benefit me?
  4. Should I really by eating this donut? Can I trust myself to make it my last for two months?

Changing the way you live your life whether that’s having more discipline, throwing out bad habits or just how you think is a huge step forward. When you ask yourself these questions it allows you to see the complexity of things you should change in yourself before you get to your ultimate goal. Even though there is many steps to take, throwing out each one of these bad things compounds and gives you growth, or glow.

When we change, decision making changes. You have to evolve your own mind. Don’t let it run you for the next six months. Evolve yourself. Then, your mind will start to align with the better you.

How To Get Motivation to Loss Weight? – Buy a Size Smaller

TIGHT A** PANTS! UGH!

I’ve always taught to buy clothing at a bit bigger size. The reasoning behind it is very explainable – you will grow into it.  The funny thing is I didn’t grow out of this mentality. Along with a lot of things that I carried from our childhood, this mentality of buying something and growing into it has stuck with me throughout the years. 

What I found in my journey is something that challenges what we have been taught. I bought a pair of pants for the sole purpose of work.  Granted, I could use the pants whenever I want and not just when I was at work but it was strictly just intended for work.

This was a good limitation that I unknowingly put on myself.  But in the long run it turns out to have been extremely beneficial.  

Just like a lot of us, I try things on before I decide if I want to buy it.  But what edged me on to making this purchase an unbeatable price and a great looking pair of pants.  Even though when I tried it on, the pants were tighter and more uncomfortable than some of my regular pants.

Later, I began to regret buying the pants because they were extremely uncomfortable. I wore them for about eight to nine hours a day and, not to mention, in the one place I did not want to be.  I was slightly outside my comfort zone in being at work and way out of my comfort zone wearing some tight a** pants!

But this isn’t a problem and here is why:

We don’t take into consideration that as humans we will do whatever it takes to be comfortable. It’s also the same reason why people gain weight or fall into bad habits; its just comfortable and brings more pleasure for them.  Being comfortable isn’t necessarily bad but there are multiple cases has taught us that people who tend find miracles outside of their comfort zone.

In my case it was nothing short of a miracle as these tight fitting pants motivated me to lose weight until they fitted correctly.

KEEP A PHYSICAL FORM OF A GOAL

Set PHYSICAL goals. Sometimes just wishing to be some type of way and putting a number on it isn’t good enough. When you actually feel the lack of comfort and when you slowly feel the progress of becoming more comfortable, you will know that you are getting closer. And guess what? You’ll be getting tons of motivation just from that.

It takes a strong mind to use this tip because you are naturally your own biggest critic. I knew that the pants were too tight, and with the culture that I live in, a lot of people would be pointing out or  looked at me funny for wearing tight pant.  But it was all for a greater good, not just to look funny.

I recommend going just a size down on whatever clothing that you buy.  Combine that with a healthy diet and working out everyday. You will soon begin to see and feel like your ideal self.  It will make losing weight a lot more fun. You will have a boost in self esteem and you’ll be comfortable in your clothes.

How many of you have heard to learn from someone else’s mistakes?

Though a lot of people may know this already, some of us may not. Sites like BrainyQuote and Goodreads hold a library of free knowledge. And guess what? You are hearing it for from successful people who were.

Have you ever had to teach a topic you know very well?

Lets say you’ve learned some skill; you’ve studied it extensively and know it like the back of you hand. If someone were to record you while you were teaching, everything you say could go on BrainyQuote and your knowledge would be spread to anyone with access to the internet. People can learn something instantly even though it took you days to learn that lesson (what we call “learning it the hard way”).

Lets Analyze a Quote

Here is a quote I like from A. R. Rahman:

Success comes to those who dedicate everything to their passion in life. To be successful, it is also very important to be humble and never let fame or money travel to your head.”

I bolded the words above because it is really useful to know their definitions. Good thing we are in the age we are in now because it is just a Google search away. Lucky for you, I’ve put screenshots below. Along with a deeper thought in red.

  • It’s important to know that you cannot be successful if you don’t have an aim or a goal. That is why everyone asks something like “What is your goal?” – because you have to have something to aim for in order to have a path to go through. Try shooting a basketball with no goal, you can’t even begin to think of where to throw the ball. What direction? How much power? Oh, I forgot. There is nothing to throw it at.

  • The word ‘dedicate’ seems like a simple word and for some of you the definition might blow you away. But when you dedicate (a verb – so you are doing an action) yourself to your passion, you are supposed to devote everything you have into it. If you look at the screenshot for the word ‘dedicate’ one more time and look at the synonyms, you’ll see an important word, ‘surrender’. Because yes, you are supposed to surrender yourself to your passion.

  • This passion is hard to NOT surrender to because it is a strong and barely controllable feeling. The people who love what they’re doing and wouldn’t trade it for the world are extremely tied to their work. They love the feeling of their work; it gives them pleasure.

  • If you are not humbled, something will humble you. It’s almost like the phrase “Live by the gun die by the gun.” If you’re not humble that same energy is going to be turned back against you.  Therefore, be humble because there is something bigger than you.

Conclusion

This isn’t just one simple way of analyzing quotes in order to get the deeper meaning of them.

Use critical thinking for quotes:

  1. You should be wondering, what life experiences did they go through in order to learn this lesson?
  2. Can you find any other sources that can tell you the same story?
  3. How can you connect this quote with something else that you have to learn?

If you don’t want to spend all that time reading books I suggest you just read a simple quote every now and then. There is even apps that will shoot out notification of the quote of the day.  Analyze quotes and understand their meaning then apply it to your life.

What Weight Loss Has Taught Me

Story Time!

I remember my mother’s ex-boyfriend telling me that in high school your self image matters a lot.  And that you don’t want to be overweight in high school for kids might make fun of me. I was chunky. I slowly began to realize it was a problem and luckily for me I got into sports and my weight started to go down. I started to eat less and stop craving so much as my stomach had become a lot more smaller. My problem with my self image started to vanish and I just felt more attractive.

Losing weight became a little bit easier for me too. I’ve learned that there is part of the process of losing weight when it seems like that fat is burning quickly. During this phase, I realized that I wasn’t as hungry all the time as I used to be. It’s not that I was scared to eat, it’s just that I didn’t feel like eating. That isn’t bad, it’s what helped me a lot because maintaining your weight is more much more harder than losing the weight.

But combining a healthy diet with a nice workout regime that is specifically designed for a certain time of the day motivates you to continue on. Not to mention you feel like an absolute God when you are practicing your best healthy habits. Losing and maintaining weight has became so much of my life that I start my day off with an exercise. This is usually a morning jog that sets the tone for the rest of the day. This basically primes myself to do some work and get through the day without making any poor eating decisions.

But that is just a good side of the process, the beginning is always the hardest. For me, just getting out of bed in the morning was the hardest first step to make. After that putting on my shoes made getting out the door easier. And getting out the door made starting the jog easier.  Every one of these little small steps we’re tough, and I did not feel like doing it at all. But every time I did one of these little small steps I felt like I could do the next one. Every time I got through one day I felt like I can go through another day. After one week I can do another week, and then after 4 weeks I can do one month.

 

This is what weight loss has taught me.

  • We have to go through the small steps in the process of anything that we want.  It’s when we don’t feel like doing anything, but we know that we have to do something. As soon as you make that step in the right direction , trust that there is something guiding you.  
  • Those small steps push you forward on your journey.
  • Will Smith once said, “You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say ‘I’m going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built.’ You don’t start there. You say, ‘I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid. You do that every single day. And soon you have a wall.”
  • Every small step that leads you closer. You will soon begin to ‘see’ clearly.  But we’re only speaking figuratively, you cannot physically see your goal until you have it. That is why people say that reality isn’t what it seems. Therefore you have to know that these tiny steps that you make will have an enormous impact on your life.

 

Let me put this into a perspective.

Let’s say you’re trying to get a dollar bill. We all know that pennies have a small value.  A lot of the times we see pennies sitting on the ground and don’t even bother to pick it up. Even though it’s free money! We do not pick it up  because the penny is a small and tiny incremental step to something we would rather have, the dollar bill. Even though that penny brings us closer to the goal, many of us will not pick it up.

You shouldn’t be afraid or have any excuse that holds you back from whatever you are trying to achieve. Because if I can do it and then repeat the formula and do it all over again then anyone can. This happened when I lost weight after middle school and when I put on weight in college and lost it all over again using the same strategy.  

Just do your best today, win today. And then win tomorrow, and then make sure to continue doing that until it is a habit. And you will see just how much your life will change. The journey of weight loss is important to teach what it will feel like to grow and what to expect.
